Dear Family,

I continue to be blessed by the WOW prayers/testimonies that were shared during worship this past Sunday. Each person shared experiences that we can identify with and celebrate with our brothers and sisters and enabled us to remember our own wow moments. Some of you related that had I not stopped the sharing you too had some wow experiences to share. WOW sharing does not have to stop. If you have some to share, please contact me and I will see that you have an opportunity to share during upcoming Sundays.

It is awesome that we are a Church family who share and encourage one another with the ways God has filled and touched our lives. Thank you for sharing in small groups (Sunday School and Bible Studies), in Worship Services, and simply as we meet together in our homes, on the street, in the store, etc. It is uplifting to hear each others encounters with God! Thank you for sharing God's sweet Spirit and challenges.

 In Christ's Service with you,

March 13, 2018

The Finance Committee met on Sunday, March 11 and we have WOW! news, good news and a budget update.

The WOW! news is that A-1 Fence Company in Rock Hill supplied the materials and installed an 8’ high black vinyl coated chain link fence backstop in our softball field!!!  The value of this donation is $2,800.00.  I would say this is a WOW event where we received a blessing from God through A-1 Fence Company and Joe Coggins.  If you have any needs for fencing, please give A-1 an opportunity to bid for your project.  You can check out their work at the softball field.

The good news pertains to the last phase of our HVAC project.  If you pass by the church on a regular basis, you might have noticed the Hospitality Heating and Air vans in the parking lot today.  Trustee Chair Ken Sanders reported to the Finance Committee that Hospitality agreed to a $1,000 reduction in the final phase cost and that they would accept $6,000 and install this week.  The HVAC fund had a balance of $5,135.16 at 2/28/18 leaving a balance of $864.64 needed to cover the cost.  The Finance Committee agreed that we should move forward in faith, praying that the deficit would be covered.  Please be in prayer about this.

The budget update is not a good news report.  We are behind in our budget receipts by $3,862.72.  While this is a serious concern this early in the year, I trust that we will be able to catch up over the next few months before summer vacation time.

We thank you all for your faithfulness to our Father as we work to spread the joyous news of our risen Savior.  Let’s continue to welcome our neighbors into our midst.  It is always a joy to see new faces become the faces of our Christian family.

In His Service,

Friendship is preparing and serving the meal at the House of Agape (HoA) April 19th. The menu is TBA.

Please consider joining us for this very meaningful ministry.  Let me know if you would like to help prepare part of the meal or help serve and fellowship with us.

We meet at the center (839 Ashton Street) around 5:30 pm, begin serving around 6:00 and wrap up around 7:00 .

We are looking forward to a very special time with our friends at HoA and hope you will join us.

Listed below is the information needed to access the meal calendar for the women's shelter which houses women and children.  I talked to the Salvation Army this morning and they are in need of meals for the shelter the week of Christmas.  Also they expressed a need for shampoo, conditioner, soap (shower gel or bar soap), and lotion.  There will be a collection box at church for donations.

There are also 18 remaining angels on their angel tree.  If you are interested in taking one or more of these angels during this season, please go by the Salvation Army on Oakland Avenue and they will give you the information.

If you would like to prepare a meal, please sign up on the Take Them A Meal calendar.  You will need to prepare for 20 people.  The recipient and password are case sensitive..

Recipient:  Warming Center

Password:  WC2017

Please keep those in need in our community in prayer.

Thank you,

We still have 9 marble top tables and 15 chairs available for sale.  They are nice heavy weight tables and the chairs have a vinyl seat.  They would be great for a covered porch area or to use inside.  If you know of someone that has a small restaurant or event area these would be perfect.  I attached a picture of the table & chairs.

The tables are $30 each and the chairs are $5 each.  Please post this info on your facebook and share it with your friends.

We also have 4 replacement double pane windows that are in good shape.  They are $100 for all four windows.

We will be offering coffee service in the Lynn Lewis/Choir room on Sunday mornings.
It will be available from 9:30 to 10:45. Stop by for a cup and some Fellowship.

The Discovery class will continue to have coffee in the Fellowship Hall and anyone is
welcome to stop by there for coffee as well.

Patricia Cloninger Seminary Fund

The Staff-Parrish Committee in conjunction with the Finance Committee has established a fund to assist Patricia with monetary needs as she prepares to enter seminary. One of the first things on the list is sophisticated voice recognition software that will enable Patricia to create documents and assignments in Microsoft Office applications using voice. This is exciting since it will speed up the time consuming process of typing with one hand. There will be other needs but we are thrilled to be able to assist Patricia in her call to the Ministry. If you would care to contribute to the fund, please mark your donations “Patricia Cloninger Seminary Fund.” May God receive the praise and glory.
