Beloved Friends in Jesus,

I am so pleased with how the surgery went!. I had a rough 24 hours and was not ready to come home Tuesday, but a day really made a difference and I was feeling much improved on Tuesday. I got home about 4:00 p.m. and went to sleep. Woke up to have a cereal supper and went back to sleep.  Got up today, felt nauseated, took a nap. Got up again, ate a little pasta salad, did therapy including walking several loops through the house, met with the Home health care nurse, then went back to sleep. Was awakened by the arrival of the Physical Therapist who told me I have been doing too much physical therapy. Gave me just a few exercises and told me to walk less and use ice packs. I went back to sleep. Finally, was able to waken and eat a cup of broccoli and a cup of cereal; I stayed awake to do the exercises the physical therapist gave me to do. I also wanted to post an update about my progress.

I am absolutely thrilled at how pain free my walking is. Still using walker at therapist's insistence. I do not have a follow up visit with the surgeon until September 11, so I don't know yet when I will be able to return to work. In the meantime, I am already looking forward to more sleep. With all the sleeping I am doing, you can no doubt understand why I suggested that you wait until next week for calls and visits!  Hopefully by then I will have slept off the after effects of the anesthesia!

May God bless and guide each of you,

Nellie😉
